Your songs live in the Songs tab of the dock at the bottom of the window. ChristChant comes with a few public-domain songs to start with; everything you add is saved on this computer and works offline.

Watch: Add and import songs (about 2 minutes)
Search titles, artists and lyrics, or filter with key:G, bpm:>100 or artist:name (1). Import song files with the button at the top (2).
  • Search matches titles, artists and lyrics, so half a remembered line is enough.
  • On the left, filter by Key, Tempo or Artist, or show only Recently Added.
  • Click a song to open it in the Preview. Right-click it for Edit Song, Add to Schedule, Export, Print and Archive.

Add a new song

  1. Click New Song in the Songs tab, or choose File → New Song… in the menu bar.
  2. Type the Song title and pick or add an artist under Singers / Artists. Those two are required; the year, key, tempo (BPM) and time signature are optional.
  3. Click Add Section and type or paste the words. Add a section for each verse, chorus and bridge.
  4. Check the slides on the right, then click Create Song.
File → New Song… opens the Song Editor too.
As you type, the preview on the right shows exactly how the slides will look.

Import song files

Click the import button at the top of the Songs tab and choose a ChristChant song file (.chrchts or .json), such as one exported from another computer, or song files from another presentation program. Tick the songs you want and click import; songs you already have are skipped. Changed your mind? Undo import on the bar that appears removes every song that import added.

To move your whole library to another computer, use the export all button next to it, then import the file there.
