AI Assistant

Ask the AI Assistant for verses, songs and screen actions

Open the assistant with Ctrl + J (Cmd + J on a Mac), type what you want in plain words, and it finds verses, songs and music, or runs actions like blackout.

The AI Assistant is a chat inside ChristChant. Instead of hunting through tabs, you type what you want, such as *John 3:16* or *songs about grace*, and it finds it or does it. It only ever uses ChristChant's own actions, so it can't change anything on your screens by surprise.

The Assistant starts with suggestions. Type or tap one to begin.

Open it

Press Ctrl + J (on a Mac, ⌘ + J), or click the AI Assistant button in the header at the top of the window. Press the same keys again to close it.

What you can ask

TypeDoes
John 3:16Finds the verse so you can send it to the Preview.
feed and go live John 3:16Puts the verse on the screens.
verses about peaceFinds verses on a topic.
Way Maker or songs about graceFinds a song, or songs on a theme.
go live with the first songTakes a song from the open service live.
songs of this serviceLists what's in the open service.
play some music / pause the musicControls the music player.
blackout / clear the screenBlacks out every screen, or takes the words off and keeps the background.
make a QR codeMakes a QR code for a link or text you describe.

You don't need exact wording. If the chat doesn't know what to do, it shows suggestions to try. An empty chat also shows a few ideas to start from.

Ask a question

Start a message with /ask to put a plain question to the assistant, for example *"/ask how many chapters are in Psalms"*, or to get step-by-step help with using ChristChant. It is also handy when your question contains a word like *blackout* that would otherwise be read as a command. /ask is included with Premium.

Does it need the internet?

Everyday requests such as verses, songs and screen commands work on this computer, offline. Writing new slides and planning a whole service use Cloud AI and need the internet. See Make slides and plans with AI.

Is it faster than the command palette?

They overlap. The command palette (Ctrl + K) is quick for exact commands. The assistant is better when you want to ask in your own words.
