Planning services

Put your service plan on every volunteer's phone calendar

Publish a calendar link once. Volunteers subscribe in Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook and see service times and song setlists update on their own.

  4. If the link leaks

Instead of texting the setlist every week, publish your services as a calendar feed. Volunteers subscribe once, and every change you make reaches their phones automatically.

Publish the feed

  1. Open Settings, then Plugins.
  2. Find iCal Feed Sync.
  3. Choose Publish now. The status changes from Not published yet and shows how many services are in the feed.
  4. Choose Copy to copy the link, and share it with your team.

The panel includes a preview of how it looks on a phone, so you can see what volunteers will see before you share the link.

Subscribe on a phone

Each person adds the link once to the calendar they already use:

  • Google Calendar, from the Google option.
  • Apple Calendar.
  • Microsoft Outlook.

Keep it current

Publish again whenever your plan changes. The feed is publish-only: editing an event in a phone calendar changes nothing in ChristChant. ChristChant stays the single source of truth for what a service is.

Reset the calendar link from the same panel to create a new one. The old link stops working immediately, so everyone who subscribed has to subscribe again with the new link.
