  1. NDI: every screen is a source
  2. SDI: a cable into the switcher
  3. Direct Live: no extra computer

ChristChant can send its screens out in three ways, and you can use them at the same time. Pick the ones that match the equipment you already have.

NDIA stream computer running OBS, vMix or a network switcher.A wired network.
SDIA hardware video switcher that takes a cable.A Blackmagic DeckLink or UltraStudio device.
Direct LiveGoing online with no extra computer or software.A stream key and a good upload connection.

NDI: every screen is a source

NDI publishes each screen you choose as a named source on your network. In OBS, vMix or another NDI switcher, add an NDI source and pick it by name.

  1. Open Settings, then Network & Streaming.
  2. Under NDI Screen Sources, enable the screens you want to publish.
  3. Set a Source name prefix. Each screen name is added to it, so every source has its own name.
  4. Choose a Frame rate under Output Provider. It applies to NDI and Direct Live.

You can also turn NDI on or off from the Provider tab of the Master panel, using the NDI chip. Sound is set separately: see Choose what sound each NDI source carries.

SDI: a cable into the switcher

Play a screen out of a Blackmagic port, with embedded audio and fill-and-key. See Send a screen out over SDI with a Blackmagic card.

Direct Live: no extra computer

Direct Live sends the Broadcast screen to YouTube, Facebook or any RTMP server. It lives in the Provider tab of the Master panel, under the Broadcast screen.

  1. Turn the Broadcast screen on if it is off.
  2. In the Provider tab, set up your destination and paste your stream key.
  3. Choose your quality, then press Go Live. Press it again to stop.

Everything about the destination, quality and sound mix is in the Broadcast Studio: see Broadcast Studio: quality, sound mixer and stream health. To send to several platforms at once, see Stream to YouTube, Facebook and more at the same time.
