Play background music and playlists
Choose your music folder, build playlists, and play music before and after the service with a player that stays out of the way.
The Music Player plays background music: gathering music before the service, a quiet playlist during prayer, or something for the lobby. It runs on its own, separate from your songs and slides.
Show ChristChant where your music is
- Open Settings → Audio & Media and choose the Audio tab.
- Under Music Library Folder, click Browse Folder and pick the folder with your music. This is the folder the music player scans for songs.
- Open the Audio tab at the bottom of the window to see your library.
Search by title, artist, album or genre. Narrow the list with All Tracks, Recently Added, Favorites or tags, and open a track's details to see its artist, album, genre, length and file location.
Play something
- Double-click a track, or right-click it and choose Play, to start it. The player opens by itself.
- Right-click and choose Add to Music Queue to line songs up one after another.
- Use Previous, Next, the Shuffle button and the Repeat button (off, all, or one track) in the player. Click the volume bar, or the speaker, to change loudness or mute.
Drag the player where you want it, minimise it to a small bar, or expand it to see the cover art and the full list.
Make a playlist
- In the Audio tab, click New playlist under Playlists and give it a name.
- Add tracks: right-click a track and choose Add to Playlist, or drag tracks onto the playlist.
- Open the playlist and click Play All, or use Playlists in the player to start it from there.
Inside the player, Now Playing shows the queue and Playlists lists everything you've made. Press Add to bring in more songs from your library, and drag the handle beside a song to reorder it.
Is there a limit on what music I can play?
ChristChant plays the files in your folder. Make sure you are licensed to play the music you use in your church.
