Preview, Feed and Go Live
How content travels from your private Preview to the screens, and the difference between Feed, Feed & Go Live, Play and Drop.
On this page
Nothing reaches the screens by accident in ChristChant. Everything starts in the Preview, which only you can see, and moves to the Live Controller when you say so. Two buttons at the top of the Preview decide how.
| Button | What happens | Use it when |
|---|---|---|
| Feed | Loads it into the Live Controller in Standby. The screens don't change. | You want it ready to go, but not yet: the next song while the pastor is still praying. |
| Feed & Go Live | Loads it and puts it on the screens straight away. | It's time. This is the button you'll use most. |
| Drop | Takes it off the live bus again. | You fed the wrong thing. |
Feed: ready, not on screen
When you're ready, click Play in the header to start the live output. Play turns into Stop, which ends it again.
Feed & Go Live: straight to the screens
- Click any slide in the Live Controller to show it.
- Use the arrows at the top right of the Live Controller to move to the previous or next slide.
- Meanwhile, load the next thing into the Preview. It won't touch the screens until you feed it.
More than one thing live
You can feed several pipelines at once, say a song and a Bible reading, and switch between them. Each gets its own tab in the Live Controller. Run several pipelines at once explains how.
The Feed & Go Live button says Pushed
That content is already live, exactly as it is in the Preview. Change the Preview, or click it again to re-send it.
Play is greyed out
Nothing has been fed yet. Feed something first, then Play starts the output.
