Venue is a live map of your church. Each screen is drawn at its real size and placed where it hangs, so you can see at a glance what the congregation will see, and check the back row before anyone arrives. It lives in the header, right after Flow.

Watch: Map your room with Venue (about 2 minutes)

Open Venue

Click Venue in the header. The number beside it is how many screens the venue holds. Venue opens on the Venue tab, with the plan on the left and your screens listed on the right.

Read the 2D plan

The plan shows the room from the front. The Main Screen hangs above the platform and the Stage Screen faces the band. Each block shows the screen's name, its resolution and aspect ratio, and whether it is live, blacked out or on standby. The panel on the right lists every screen by where it is: left, centre, right, in the lobby or at home.

Screens are drawn to their real size. The panel on the right lists them by where they are.

Put each screen where it hangs

  1. If the venue is locked, press Edit in the bar above the plan. A saved venue opens locked so nobody moves the room by accident.
  2. Drag a screen to where it hangs in your room. The position is kept for this venue.
  3. Click a screen to see its details: resolution, aspect ratio, its share of all the pixels you drive, and the display it runs on. Rulers show its width and height on the plan.
  4. Under Real size, enter the screen's real width and height in metres or inches, so the proportions are true to the wall.
  5. For the Stage Screen, turn it with the turn controls until it faces the band.

Compare sizes side by side

Open the Sizes tab to line every screen up side by side, with a ruler underneath. Switch between Pixels and Real size: pixels shows how much picture each screen gets, real size shows how big it is on the wall, and the line under the screens tells you how wide they are together.

Add people, band and lights

Press Edit venue in the bar under the plan. The side panel lists what you can place, under People, Band, Church, Lighting and Production. Drag an item onto the floor, then click it to choose its style and colour, change its size and height, turn it, duplicate it or delete it. The Venue tab in the same panel shapes the room itself.

Drag people and gear onto the floor from the side panel.

Walk the room in 3D

Switch to 3D to walk through the room as a person would. Drag to look around, scroll to zoom, and use the hand to slide the view. From stage shows the room the way the singers see it. Stand in the back row and check that the lyrics are readable from there. Switch back to 2D for the flat plan.

The 3D view shows the room as the congregation sees it.

Keep a venue for each building

Venue keeps a library of rooms. Each venue remembers its map, its people and gear, and the output setup for every screen: resolution, fit, crop and edge blend. Click the venue name at the top left to switch between them, or to start a new one.

Start from a sample venue, or from a blank room.
  • Start from a sample. Open Samples to preview ready-made venues, from a main sanctuary and a chapel to a youth hall and an outdoor Easter service, then copy one and make it your own.
  • Export and import. Share a venue as a ChristChant venue file, and import one someone else built.
  • Physical displays are chosen on site. A venue keeps the shape of the room and the output setup. You still pick which real display each screen uses when you arrive.
