Design your own slides in the Slide Editor
Create a presentation, add text, shapes and images from the side rail, manage pages, and know that everything saves itself as you work.
The Slide Editor is where you build your own slides: a sermon deck, a welcome slide, an announcement. This is the tour of the basics.
Open the editor
- To start fresh, open File → New Presentation → Fully Editable.
- To change a deck you already have, open the Presentations tab, right-click the deck and choose Edit Slide.
Name it
The deck's name sits at the top centre; click it to type a new one. Next to it, the folder menu chooses which category the deck belongs to, which is how it's grouped in the Presentations tab.
Add things to a slide
The rail on the left is your toolbox. Click a section to open it:
| Section | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Templates | Start a page from a ready-made layout. |
| Elements | Shapes, graphics, icons, photos, videos, animations, emoji and QR codes. |
| Tools | Select, Text, Lines, Draw and Sticky notes. |
| Marquee | Scrolling text. |
| Bible | Scripture passages. |
| Advanced elements | Camera, NDI and Timer elements. |
| Layers | See and arrange everything on the page. |
Click an item to add it to the page, then drag it into place. Select anything on the page to adjust it with the toolbar that appears beside it.
Work with pages
Your pages run along the bottom as thumbnails. Click a page to open it, and drag to reorder. Open a thumbnail's ... menu for more:
- Notes: private notes for that page.
- Add transition or Edit transition.
- Duplicate page (Ctrl + D, or ⌘ + D on a Mac).
- Add page above and Add page below.
- Hide page and Lock page, shown as small badges on the thumbnail.
- Delete page, with Del.
It saves itself
There's no save step to remember. ChristChant saves every change as you make it, and the status at the bottom left reads All changes saved. You can still press Ctrl + S (⌘ + S on a Mac) if it makes you feel better.
- Undo: Ctrl + Z
- Redo: Ctrl + Shift + Z
- Close the editor: Esc
- Use the zoom buttons at the bottom to zoom, and the grid and ruler buttons to line things up.
When the deck is ready, send it to a lane: Use the four slide lanes. To add a QR code, see Add a QR code to a slide.

- Add entrance animations and slide transitionsChoose how text and shapes appear on a slide, and how one slide changes to the next, without overdoing it.
