Team & remote

Pair a phone as the remote

Connect a phone with a QR code or PIN, give it a role, and approve it at the booth. Works over your Wi-Fi, or over the app's own hotspot on Windows.

The ChristChant mobile app is both a remote for the booth computer and a full offline Bible. Pairing takes a few seconds, and the phone needs no account to pair.

Pair over your network

  1. On the desktop, click Remote in the header. Remote device connection opens.
  2. Under Pair next device as, choose a role. See Choose a role for each phone.
  3. Choose Generate new session. A QR code and a 6-digit Connection PIN appear.
  4. On the phone, open Desktop Monitor and tap Scan to connect. Scan the code, or enter the PIN.
  5. On the desktop, approve the device when the prompt appears. It shows the device name and the role it will get.
  6. The phone shows the current and next slide once it connects.

Why you have to approve

A PIN alone is not enough. Every phone needs you to approve it at the booth, so a stranger on your Wi-Fi cannot join. Approve only a phone you can see someone on the team holding.

Manage connected phones

  • Connected devices lists each phone, with a Disconnect button.
  • Blocked devices lists phones you blocked. Choose Unblock to let one back in.
  • Stop session ends the session and disconnects every phone.

When there is no Wi-Fi

Church networks are unreliable, and guest Wi-Fi often stops devices from seeing each other. On Windows, ChristChant can create its own Wi-Fi hotspot, so the phone and computer talk directly with no router.

  1. Open Settings, then Network.
  2. Set a network name and a password of at least 8 characters.
  3. Turn on the hotspot, then join that network from the phone.

If the connection drops mid-service, the desktop keeps presenting. The remote is a convenience, never a dependency.
