Moving your plan to a new or second computer

Your plan runs on one computer at a time. Sign in on the new machine, then switch your plan to it in one click.

  1. Move it to a new or reinstalled computer
  2. Switching back and forth
  3. If it does not work

Your plan belongs to your ChristChant account, not to a licence key. It runs on one computer at a time. So there is nothing to type in and nothing to deactivate on the old computer. You just move the plan.

Move it to a new or reinstalled computer

  1. Install ChristChant on the new computer. See Install ChristChant and put your first song on screen.
  2. Sign in with the same account you already use.
  3. If the plan is still marked as in use on your old computer, ChristChant shows Second computer and a Use on This Computer button. Click it.
  4. Confirm in the window that appears. The plan moves, and the watermark goes.

Switching back and forth

You can switch back at any time, from either computer. If you run services in two places, move the plan to the computer you are about to use. See One computer at a time: how your plan seat works.

If it does not work

  • Not signed in: sign in to your account on this computer first.
  • Offline: check the internet connection and try again.
  • No active plan: this computer is now the active one, but the church selected has no active plan. Check your plan in the account portal.
  • Could not confirm yet: the plan moved, and it switches on as soon as this computer reconnects.
  • Or use Manage Devices in your account at account.christchant.com (opens in a new tab).

Licence checks use verified network time rather than the computer clock, so changing the date does not work around them.
